MSA DATA SOLUTIONS

Here we have some handy keyboard shortcuts that we often use to help speed up our daily tasks, these are handy to know especially when your mouse decides to stop working…

Internet
Ctrl + T		Opens a new tab (you can also use the middle mouse button)
Alt + f4		Closes the window
Ctrl + D		Bookmark – Adds website to your favourites
Ctrl + F		Opens a Search box to find a word on a page
Ctrl + H		Opens your browsers “History”

Documents
Ctrl + A	Selects All
Ctrl + C	Copies file or text
Ctrl + X	Cuts the highlighted text
Ctrl + Z	Undo
Ctrl + Y	Redo
Ctrl + V	Pastes the cut or copied text
Ctrl + B	Changes highlighted text to Bold or normal
Ctrl + I	Changes highlighted text to Italics or normal
Alt + f4	Closes the file or folder

Tech Shortcuts
Ctrl + Alt +Del		Opens the Task Manager
Win + R		Opens the “Run” Command Line
Win + I		Opens Settings

Commands
MRT		Opens the Windows Virus Scanner
CMD		Opens a DOS Window
CMD (Admin)		Win +R type CMD hold left SHIFT & CTRL and hit ENTER

DOS Commands
sfc /scannow	Opens the Windows Virus Scanner
ipconfig /flushdns	Flushes the DNS Cache
drive letter + colon (e:)	switches to that drive
cd\	takes you to the drives root directory
dir	gives you a list of the drives contents
winget upgrade	gives you a list of available updates
winget upgrade –all	updates all apps
diskpart	opens the disk partitioning tool

DISKPART (Partition) Commands
diskpart>
list disk	gives you a list of drives on your pc
select disk (then disk no)	selects the disk you want to work on
detail disk	gives you the information for that drive
clean	removes all partitions from the drive
create partition primary	creates a new primary partition
